Vitamin D Deficiency in Infertile Males with Oligospermia: A Cross-sectional Comparative Study

Introduction: The male factor responsible for infertility includes oligospermia. According to WHO criteria, oligospermia is sperm concentration less than 15 million per millilitre of semen. Vitamin D a steroid hormone synthesized in the skin and derived from diet. A serum level 20 ng/dl regarded as vitamin deficiency. deficiency has been linked many reproductive disorders. This study was designed analyze association between Methods: cross-sectional comparative conducted Department Reproductive Endocrinology Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, during period July 2018 June 2019. There are 157 infertile males with one group normozoospermia another group. base line semen analysis evaluation done, estimated. Results: mean 16.75+5.75 ng/ml 19.83+5.33 ng /ml normozoospermia. By threshold defined, all deficient D. difference circulating levels two groups statistically significant (p<0.05). VitaminD 4.25 times more Conclusion: associated males.
